We would love to see you at Groveland Park this month, and we have two fantastic events lined up to make March extra-special. We hope you can make it in to see one or both of our great acts!

Without further ado, here’s what we have in store this March…

We’re starting things off in style, with the Chas & Dave Show on Thursday 7th! Pete and Tony will be here at Groveland Park to perform their musical tribute to the original ‘Rockney’ duo, Chas & Dave, complete with live guitars, lead vocals and backing tracks. You’ll get to hear all the classic hits, including ‘Ain’t No Pleasing You’, ‘London Girls’, ‘Rabbit’ and lots more. At this event, there will be nibbles and an open bar to enjoy.

On Saturday 23rd, we’re playing host to two amazingly talented chaps impersonating Ball & Boe! Known as The Two Bows, we can’t wait to hear them perform favourites from the Rat Pack and Swing era, as well as some of our TV, film and musical theatre favourites. We’ll also be serving gourmet delights and cocktails, so it’s sure to be a great evening.

If you would like to join us for either or both of these great acts, please RSVP to or 01322 523090 – it would be great to see you and as usual, everything is completely free of charge. Food options are subject to change.

Groveland Park, the care home that’s here for you the whole way through

If you’re already familiar with Groveland Park Care Home, you’ll probably know that we provide high-quality residential, dementia, respite and day care here in Bexleyheath, always with kindness and compassion – but to enable us to provide an even better service to all those who call Groveland Park their home, we have been working closely with the Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice.

We have recently completed the pioneering ‘Six Steps Programme’, which focuses on facilitating organisational change and supporting staff to develop their roles with the aim of enhancing end-of-life care. What this means for Groveland Park is that our team is now able to provide excellent end-of-life care and we are in the best possible position to take care of our residents for as long as they need us.

End-of-life care is one of the most important parts of what we do as a care home, and that’s why we’re proud to have been recognised to provide this vital kind of care here in our home.

We’re confident that all members of staff at Groveland Park understand the importance of maintaining dignity and comfort, showing respect and kindness every step of the way and making sure that care is tailored to each resident’s needs.

We also appreciate wholeheartedly that it’s not just about looking after the person in our care, it’s also about supporting loved ones, being a friendly face and offering support in such a difficult time.

If you would like to know more about the care we can provide here at Groveland Park or about the ‘Six Steps Programme’, please don’t hesitate to get in touch – simply pop in, call us on 01322 523090 or email

Getting in the Christmas spirit

On a chilly Saturday afternoon earlier this month, we thought it would be a nice idea to take some of our residents on a trip over to Bluewater to admire the dazzling Christmas lights. The roads were lined with trees and twinkling lights, and in the centre stood huge reindeer, which looked stunningly breathtaking, and by the side of the lake was also the ice-skating rink. We stopped here to have a look – it was lovely to be part of such a special place, and watching families and friends having fun together brought smiles to all our faces. To top it all off, we enjoyed a delicious cup of hot chocolate, followed by the singing of Christmas songs on our journey home.

Remembrance Sunday

Owing to the significance of Remembrance Sunday this year, with it marking the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I, we went all out in our efforts – with the help of Julie, one of our regular volunteers, our residents managed to make over 120 knitted poppies.

Our knit and natter group is growing in size each week, as everybody wants to get involved in raising money for the Greenwich & Bexley Hospice. By selling poppies, we raised almost £300, which is absolutely amazing.

In previous years, our fundraising efforts have always been a success with the handmade poppies, so watch out for what we have in store for next year…

On Friday 9th November, we spent yet another fabulous all-inclusive evening at Groveland Park, this time with the very glamorous ‘Showgirl Sisters’! At our Vegas Dance Show, complete with American appetisers and sassy cocktails, a great night was had by all, with fantastic dancing and great music.

The show was a mixture of dance routines from Vegas and lyrical jazz numbers bringing some glitz and glamour, and the ladies dazzled us with custom-made costumes and bubbly personalities. This was a fantastic night loved by all our residents and visitors who attended.
