On the last Tuesday morning of every month from 10.30am until 12.15pm, the Diamond Jubilee Club runs at Bexley Christian Life Centre. And we had a great time last week.

Our visit to the diamond jubilee club is always one of our favourite places to visit as we have been for many years now - it's a place where local care homes and friends of the community come to visit. It is designed for the over 65s in our community who are lonely and isolated and looking for friendship, and also those who experience memory loss. It is open to all who feel they would benefit from a morning of music and song, where professional artistes are sometimes invited alongside our Pastor Del and his wife Carol. We play hymns and entertain with songs from the shows, sing-a-longs, and melodies from the 1940s to present day. Although music is used as reminiscence therapy, it is simply for fun as well!

The club can give carers a well-deserved break, but carers are also very welcome to attend. The team of volunteers provide simple crafts and there is always a chance for a chat over tea or coffee and homemade cakes. Prayer is offered to those who would benefit! The club is entirely free of charge.
