12-09-2014 This week we've ventured out to a garden centre which we have never been to before - Coolings Garden Centre in Knockholt. We visited twice, once on Wednesday and again on Friday to ensure everybody got to enjoy the award winning variety of flowers. Both trips were very successful and everyone overall enjoyed the trip. We will be visiting this one again.
04-09-2014 This week we had an fantastic evening with the Blues Brothers tribute act. The show was a great tribute to the originals and performed all of the favourites from the film. There was lots of dancing and singing and an overall great atmosphere filled the home. The show was accompanied by a USA based cuisine with delicious hot dogs, burgers and pulled pork. One of our favourite events to date!
29-08-2014 This week a handful of our residents ventured down to Maidstone in the mini-bus to board the Kentish Lady River Boat. Whilst learning about the river and surrounding history, they enjoyed taking in the views and getting a bit of fresh air. They stopped off at a local restaurant for some fresh out the water fish and chips. Everybody come back to Groveland Park smiling over what a wonderful day they all had.
22-08-2014 If you dislike insects, rodents and reptiles look away now! This week we had a brave bunch of our residents handling the above which collaborated create 'Zoolab uk'. They provided us with an exciting and memorable handling experience. One thing to mention is the residents won the battle of bravery over the staff! Also this week we visited Lindy Lou's which is a vintage coffee shop based in Crayford for some real coffee, pretty china and traditional cake with quaint surroundings. It was delicious to say the least and everybody enjoyed themselves. We will be back.
15-08-2014 Earlier in the week our lovely residents visited one of their favourite destinations, Greenwich Park. They really enjoy having a stroll around the grounds and admiring the surroundings, and they always enjoy the tea and cake stop in the Pavilion Café. Later on in the week a handful of residents went for a walk around another popular destination Millbrook Garden Centre. The different variety of plants are always admired, along with the coffee stop in the Café.
